Today’s Honorees are Howard Davis, Jr. and Karla Guadamuz-Davis

Fight Time Promotions, LLC is a full service professional sports entertainment family-owned company founded by 1976 Olympic Boxing Gold Medalist – Howard Davis Jr. and his wife and former Journalist – Karla Guadamuz-Davis.

After a year of developing the company’s name and concept, Fight Time Promotions launched its “Fight Time” series in August 2010. The couples’ vast backgrounds are what make the company a strong and unique Mixed Martial Arts promotional company based in South Florida.

Howard Davis Jr. broke records when he was a fighter by winning the New York Golden Gloves as a young amateur boxer. During the ’76 Olympic Games – Davis received a phone call that his beloved mother had passed away three days before his first fight. Davis decided to stay in Montreal, Canada and dedicated the Gold medal to his mother.

Davis was also named the Outstanding Boxer of the 1976 Olympics and awarded the Val Barker Trophy, during the Olympics that included Sugar Ray Leonard, Michael Spinks and Leon Spinks. Davis, the oldest of ten children, grew up in Glen Cove Long Island, NY and became a professional prize fighter in the Lightweight Division after winning Gold in the 1976 Olympics.

He was trained by his father – Howard Davis Sr. – for most of his 23 year boxing career which includes an amateur boxing record of 120-5 and 43 Professional fights with only 6 defeats.

After living in New York & New Jersey most of his life, Davis moved to sunny South Florida in 2003 after American Top Team asked him to become their Boxing Director. Davis created a bond with many of the up and coming MMA fighters, who credit him with helping to improve their striking skills.

Davis has been featured on Spike TV’s “Ultimate Fighter” as the Boxing Trainer for Season 11 and has trained MMA champions and superstars such as Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell, Thiago “Pitbull” Alves, Thiago Silva, Jeff Monson, Din Thomas and more.

His wife and business partner Karla Guadamuz-Davis grew up in Miami, FL and graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Communications & Political Science. She was a Journalist for 15 years at South Florida television and radio stations as well as major news publications. In 2007, Guadamuz-Davis launched her own Marketing and Public Relations Firm (KGC Marketing Team) and also managed Professional Boxers.

In 2011, Fight Time Promotions held more shows than another other fight promoter in the State of Florida (boxing or MMA). Fight Time Promotions’ PRO MMA fights are featured in millions of television households. The “Fight Time” series takes place 5 times a year in South Florida at the historic War Memorial Auditorium in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Fight Time Promotions, LLC provides fans with action-packed MMA professional fights and is geared toward fans, who want to see live action and support Mixed Martial Arts.
