When I was in high school, I ran for a senior class officer position with the campaign slogan, “Hell Yes! Vote for Norm!” After a week of campaigning, we had an assembly where each candidate gave a speech. I decided to put on a slideshow. At the end of the speech, I told the crowd, “Okay, if you want to vote for me, on the count of three, yell “Hell Yes!” I said “1, 2, 3…” and the whole place erupted: “HELL YES!!!!”
Later that day, I found out I had won the election by a landslide. The following year was a Hell Yes year. Now, over 25 years later, I’m opening back up. I’m tapping back into that old part of myself, my biggest, most authentic, fully-expressed self. And I’m ready to live a Hell Yes Life.
FROM LLL TO HYL
See, many of us, myself included, haven’t been living HYLs. No, we’ve been living LLLs: Low Level Lives. That’s not a judgement, it’s just a fact. Sometimes we live at higher energy frequencies where we feel ALIVE, SPONTANEOUS, CURIOUS, PRESENT, and INSPIRED.
And at other times, we live at lower energy frequencies, where we feel disconnected, grumpy, angry, flat, dull and listless. You probably know what I’m talking about because you’ve likely felt both ways at one time or another. Well, here at Hell Yes Life, we’re here to explore how we can live more of our lives in the HYL Zone and less of our lives in the LLL Zone. Here’s how we’ll be doing that:
1) HELL YES LIFE PODCAST
On the podcast, we talk to a variety of inspiring people – entrepreneurs like John Lee Dumas and Nick Loper, musicians like Ed Roman, authors like Beth Buelow, Doug Piotter and Felice Cohen, inspirational speakers like Peter Feysa and Cynthia Ruiz, mindfulness teachers like Stacey Tucker, coaches like Quito Keutla and Dawn Armstrong, artists like photographer Brendan Ramsey, plus activists, leaders, spiritual teachers, world travelers, world changers and movement makers, all with one thing in common: They’re currently living or moving toward living an amazing, inspiring, Hell Yes Life.
The HYL private Facebook group is your place to connect with other Hell Yes Lifers and support each other as you move toward your HYL. Not only that, but we’ll make a real effort to help each other take leaps and strides in their HYL. Know someone who’s a scuba diving instructor? Maybe you can connect a new HYL member whose Hell Yes is scuba diving. And maybe someone will do something similar to help you with your Hell Yes.
Signing up to the newsletter is the best way to stay connected with HYL. You’ll be the first to know when a new episode is released. You’ll also get event updates and special members-only offers.
