Author Stacey Aaronson was in the midst of building a career in retail management when the 2008 recession hit. Within a few short months her job was downsized, then disappeared. And there were no new jobs to be found.
Just when her morale was at its lowest, an author she knew asked if she could help him design a cover for his book. Stacey—a self-taught graphic designer—had been designing greeting cards as a hobby and side gig.
Before she knew it, she was approached by other authors looking for help not just with design, but also with editorial work, and her new career was born. Today she is a passionate ghostwriter, editor, book designer, and publishing partner who has worked on over two hundred books. She describes this journey in her memoir, Raising, and Losing, My Remarkable Teenage Mother
