Laurie Solomon began her career with Devereux Texas in January 2017. In August of that same year, when Hurricane Harvey flooded the League City campus, Laurie selflessly continued to care for our individuals, evacuating for a period of four months.
Laurie always volunteers for assignments and takes on new responsibilities. Supervisors rely on her because she is dependable and uses sound judgment. The consistent quality of care Laurie provides, along with her willingness to take on more responsibility, led to her promotion to lead direct support professional.
Laurie sought the challenge of helping open a new unit, and has maintained a positive attitude during a time of census growth. As a servant leader, she leads by example and has helped train and coach new employees in accordance with Devereux’s mission. Laurie is respected by staff and individuals alike, and is known to be kind, but firm, and always nurturing. She is frequently named as a staff member who has helped individuals reach
their treatment goals.
We know Laurie will continue to be a valuable and versatile employee, building upon her strong leadership skills. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Laurie!
