Kailee McIntyre’s work resonates with Devereux’s mission, which is to change lives by unlocking and nurturing human potential for people living with emotional, behavioral or cognitive difference. She appreciates the unique value of each individual, and believes everyone should have access to meaningful interactions and experiences in their lives. This sets Kailee apart, and why she is so deserving of this award. She is respected by those receiving services, as well as her colleagues.
Kailee provides support to our self-advocacy group, assisting in their meetings and facilitating events. She also coordinates larger events, from our dinner dance and trips to ball games, to local community programs across four counties. She also is actively involved with our adult Special Olympics athletes. While this work keeps her extremely busy, Kailee regularly supports the scheduling needs of our day and residential programs, providing direct support. Kailee exemplifies a culture of caring in her interactions with our individuals and colleagues. She regularly demonstrates the Seven Pillars of Servant Leadership by providing encouragement and support, being a good listener; treating others with respect, being trustworthy, fair and consistent; leading by example, and
showing appreciation, giving credit to those who deserve it.
