Union District Oyster Bar & Lounge Executive Chef Tobias Dorzon is Today’s Honoree

Chef Tobias Dorzon is Executive Chef and founder of Victory Chefs Catering and The Victory Truck, a popular mobile kitchen based in the Nation’s Capital. Born and raised in the Washington metropolitan area, Chef Tobias grew up watching his Liberian father, a chef, in the kitchen and longed for a culinary career, but he opted to pursue football and attended Jackson State University on a full athletic scholarship. After three years in the NFL and CFL, Chef Tobias invested heavily in his culinary education by studying at the Art Institute of Washington and abroad in Brazil. He then began apprenticing at several local restaurants gaining invaluable experience, learning what to do as well as what not to do. His career trajectory shifted when retired Pro Bowler and Washington Redskin Santana Moss saw Chef Tobias’ Instagram photos, tasted his food and immediately hired him as personal chef for his family. Chef Tobias is passionate about bringing his upscale food experiences to the masses and is building a culinary empire that rivals the greats! When he isn’t working, Chef Tobias is serving his delicious food to the homeless, speaking to youth groups and, most importantly, spending quality time with his two beautiful daughters.
