Michael R. Burgdorf, MD, MPH is an award-winning, board-certified plastic surgeon and founder/president of Music City Plastic Surgery in Nashville. Dr. Burgdorf has a reputation for compassionately listening to his patients’ desires and concerns. His respect for each one of his patient’s bodies and their decisions is unmatched. Since starting his own practice in 2012, Dr. Burgdorf has been active in performing cosmetic breast, body, and facial procedures, and has focused his special interest on the “mommy makeover”.
He earned his undergraduate from Notre Dame, where he played football while maintaining academic excellence. He attended medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans and stayed there for his surgical residency. After Hurricane Katrina, Dr. Burgdorf and his family moved to Mississippi where he completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, one of the largest plastic surgery groups in the US.
As a father of four active children and a surgeon in a bustling practice, his days are full, but he strives to take time each day to acknowledge God’s presence in his life. His wife, his partner in life, and mother to their four children, is also a physician.
