Maretta L. Johnson is a Georgia native and resides in metro Atlanta. She attended West Georgia College in Carrollton, Georgia. She went on to receive a Paralegal Certification and a her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing from DeVry University. Maretta has over twenty years of experience as a Paralegal specializing in workers’ compensation, personal injury, and employment/labor law. She has worked for Fortune 500 companies and private firms. She is also a member of the national organization of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
Maretta is a survivor. In 1992 after she and her husband suffered the loss of their daughter, Jazmine Johnson, at the hands of a drunk driver, Maretta went on to speak out and encourage other parents who have suffered the loss of a child. Maretta and Jacques later had two other children, Jacques T. Johnson II, (a recording artist) and Jarrett Johnson.
Maretta Johnson is an patented inventor and holds a patent for a baby product and is listed with other historic African American Inventors. Maretta Johnson is the co-owner of Johnson Thomas Brown Productions, Inc. (JTB). Her creative mind afforded her the opportunity to be the co-creator and executive producer of Celebrity Mamas of Atlanta, which will be franchised to LA, Miami and New York later. The show features the moms of T.I., Tiny Harris, KCamp, J Holiday, Syleena Johnson, Keke Wyatt, Rasheeda, and Cash Out.
When Maretta’s son, Jacques Johnson, decided to become a hip hop artist and she realized he was really very good, she jumped into management mode. There is no way she would allow her son to be eaten alive in the entertainment business. Since that time, he has charted a single, received product endorsements and opened for some of the top artists in the industry. He is also the youngest executive producer of a reality television series called “ Who Is Jacques Johnson.” Their youngest son Jarrett is destined for greatness also and is feeling his way through his many talents.
