Author Charlotte Canion is Today’s Honoree

There are many stages in the relationship between parent and child, with what’s likely the final – when it’s time to deliver parenting style caretaking to one’s own parents, is not surprisingly often the one least properly prepared for on one hand and wildly difficult to process by both parent and son or daughter on the other. Author, entrepreneur, mentor and grandmother Charlotte Canion has answered the call for help, recently announcing the launch of her new book, “You Have To Laugh To Keep From Crying: How To Parent Your Parents”, that delivers in her own inspirational, passionate and easy to understand way a great deal of her vast wisdom on the subject. To celebrate the release, Canion joined last October 3 the Hospice Plus Seniors and Caregivers Expo offering pre-sales of the powerful, life enhancing new book.

“We have to love our parents enough to find a way to care for them that is respectful to all of our needs,” commented the author. “Being able to smile and to see the big picture is one important part of the story. It’s my pleasure to share my own experience parenting my parents in my new book in the hopes that it helps bring strength to as many families as possible who are facing these challenges.”

According to Canion, her own strength has resolve to come up with the solutions presented in “You Have To Laugh To Keep From Crying: How To Parent Your Parents” came largely from things she learned from her family itself, including her Christian faith. All of these elements make their way into the book in a way that’s equally educational and inspirational, leaving it up to the reader to decide what to model and apply to help face their own challenges.

Early reviews have endorsed “You Have To Laugh To Keep From Crying: How To Parent Your Parents” completely.

Shannon Schmidt, Assistant Vice President of Lone Star Candle Supply, Inc., recently said, “Charlotte is one of the most driven, compassionate, and unselfish people I have had the pleasure of knowing for more than twenty years. She always goes out of her way to help others in need. Caring for people and doing things for them is what she does best and her faith in our Lord motivates her daily. She has dreamed of writing this book for many years and now she is sharing her stories with the world.”
