Author Sarah Ingmanson is Today’s Honoree for Wednesday February 10th, 2016

WordOfWeekSarah Ingmanson raised eyebrows among her business colleagues and friends when she decided to transition from the corporate world and open a fitness studio.

However, making a leap of faith was just what Ingmanson, author of “Word of the Week,” needed. While Ingmanson loved her job, behind the scenes a grueling international travel schedule was taking a toll on her health.

After Ingmanson’s visits to the emergency room seemingly started to rack up as much as her frequent flier miles, she knew she needed an outlet away from work. Ingmanson’s doctor recommended joining a gym, but she knew that running on the treadmill would not be enough.

Ingmanson found her solution in fitness classes. She became certified in a wide variety of classes, including The willPower Method®.

Part of her responsibility in teaching the class is to utilize a different inspirational word each week to inspire her students. Sensing the impact these words made, she wrote a book on the subject to help them discover their true potential by opening their bodies, hearts and minds through motivation.

“Outward appearances can be deceiving,” Ingmanson said. “When your soul knows differently, your body eventually decides it will no longer put up with the abuse this disconnect is creating.”

Now fully engulfed in fitness, Ingmanson used her career shift as an opportunity to help others resolve their disconnect between the mind and body that Ingmanson knew from personal experience.

“Becoming a fitness instructor made no logical sense at the time,” Ingmanson said. “Yet, it was one of the best decisions I made in my life.”

Sarah Ingmanson is the founder and president of Star’s Locker fitness studio in Henderson, Nev.
