Keisha Escamilla began a life in pageantry as a student at Loyola Marymount University, over 20 years ago. She won her local pageant, and landed on the Miss California stage in the Miss America system, where she won a preliminary talent award, and was a finalist who won Talent.
Keisha went on to distinguish herself in a sales career, both as a Sr. Pharmaceutical Sales Representative, taking top sales awards in both her territory as well as nationally. She also rose to the as a Hotel Catering Sales Director, becoming the top sales person in her company. She is currently employed as a Senior Sales Executive for the Torrance South Bay Marriott Hotel, where, once again, she is breaking sales records on a monthly basis.
Almost 20 years later, Keisha took over a floundering Miss America pageant in San Bernardino, California. Keisha expanded her Inland Empire franchise into several local Miss America franchises, including the revival of Miss City of Inglewood, the first inner city pageant granted by Miss California in more than 20 years.
Now, as Executive Director and CEO of the Miss Black California pageant, Keisha gets to focus on her passion: providing opportunity for other young women of color. “Encourage, Enlighten, Enrich, Expand, Elevate – these are the foundational pillars of our program experience for each contestant”.
