Dr. Elizabeth King, “The Holistic Therapist” is an internationally recognized wellness expert, psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, author, speaker, radio personality and philanthropist. She is the CEO and founder of International Holistic Center (IHC), a boutique health center dedicated to fusing conventional and alternative therapies to address the whole person.
Dr. King launched Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick™ “The Balancing Act” Conference on July 13, 2012 as a direct result of seeing an increasing number of professional women coming to IHC emotionally and physically broken down due to the high demands placed on them as they tried to do it all. Dr. King wanted to offer women effective solutions and resources for success. Last year the conference was sold out and women left asking for more. On that day, the movement for women’s health, wealth, happiness and purpose began and continues 365 days a year with effective programs to support women. The 2nd Annual “The Balancing Act” Conference was held on July 12, 2013 at the luxurious Ritz Carlton Fort Lauderdale.
Dr. King comes to holistic health from a place of knowledge, understanding and compassion and brings these critical qualifications to her life’s work. Dr. King contracted polio in the Dominican Republic at the age of 3 and since that young age, has undergone 36 surgeries and many extensive periods of recovery. Despite these potential setbacks, she has never let anything stop her from achieving her professional or personal goals or from slowing her down in her mission to empower and educate others.
Her recently published book, “Dr. King’s Simple Guide to Holistic Health: Lessons Learned from My Personal Journey” is the book that she wished she would have had 8 years ago when she was bedridden for 2 years. She wrote the book to give people options and hope. International author and medical expert, Dr. Bernie Siegel writes “This book is exactly what the title states. I credit Dr. King for being able to explain a complex topic in simple terms. If you or your family have not been adequately prepared to cope with an illness, and the medical world has not provided you with the answers that you need, then read on and prepare yourself with the wisdom contained in Dr. King’s book. She has lived and experienced it firsthand”.
In conjunction with running International Holistic Center, speaking, writing, producing conferences and being involved in her community, Dr. King hosted the highly acclaimed “The Dr. Elizabeth King Show,” a radio program heard around the world that focuses on holistic health.
Dr. King has been featured in countless English and Spanish media. She has been honored with prestigious recognitions such as the Hispanic Women of Distinction award and the 100 Outstanding Women of Broward County. She was an honored nominee for the National Association of Women Business Owners Bravo Diversity Award.
Dr. King is the proud mother of her “miracle baby”, A. Elizabeth, a Harvard Law graduate and a top litigator in New York. She is happily married to her best friend of 17 years, John Weaver. She loves God, family, children and red.
