Emmy Award nominated Jill Nicolini can seen every morning on WCBS and WLNY-TV’s “The Couch.” She also just joined the cast of “Fit or Flop” as Season III host. Nicolini is a thirteen-time Emmy Award nominee for her work both reporting and hosting. As a journalist she has traveled around the world. From reuniting soldiers with their loved ones in Iraq to covering The X Factor finale live from Los Angeles. Currently Jill can be seen on WLNY-TV’s morning show The Couch. She is filming Jay Z and Will Smith’s Annie featuring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz where she will play Andrea G. Annetti, a local news reporter.
She also is the host of NAMM, V-Newsletter and InfoComm.
In 2011 Jill joined FOX 5 as an Entertainment and Feature Reporter in New York City where for the past two years she has interviewed top celebrities on red carpets all over the country including Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Carrie Underwood. Her duties also included covering the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and filling in on the anchor desk.
Previously, she was the Traffic/Entertainment Anchor on The PIX-11 Morning News since 2004. In addition to delivering the traffic, Nicolini interviewed top stars in the entertainment industry. She also served as fill-in anchor, weather anchor and feature reporter.
In 1996 Nicolini became a pre-med student at Stony Brook University. One year later, she joined WBLI Radio in Long Island and her broadcasting career began. She attended Suffolk Community College where she received her Associates Degree in Television/Radio Broadcasting in 2000. That same year, Nicolini switched majors and began working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts at the New York Institute of Technology while reporting for LI News Tonight.
In 2001, she became the arena announcer for the New York Islanders and a dancer for the New York Dragons arena football league. Nicolini soon became an on-camera traffic reporter at Long Island’s Metro & Traffic and Weather Channel and News 12 Long Island. In 2003 she received her Master’s in Communication Arts and starred in FOX TV’s reality series Married by America and won the show. She is the spokesperson for Bios Beauty and Audyssey and hosted her own internet celebrity talk show entitled Jill Nicolini Interviews on HDonlinecinema.com.
Nicolini has an OUPV Captain’s License from The Nautical School in Lindenhurst (yes she is a licensed Captain with the US Coastguard) and aspires to earn a pilot’s license as well. She has logged over 65 hours and has flown solo in a Cessna 172.
Her proudest achievement was spending the Christmas holidays in Iraq both 2008 and 2009 with local servicemen and servicewoman where she was able to reconnect the troops with their families back at home live via satellite. In continuing her goodwill mission, in 2010 she spent the holidays in Norfolk, Virginia with the Navy where she reported live and reunited sailors with their loved ones.
Nicolini is actively involved with several charities, including: John Theissen Children’s Foundation, Little Shelter Animal Rescue, and The Alliance for Lupus Research, and The Arthritis Foundation.
She is the recipient of multiple awards from the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association, Inc., Italian American Police Society, East Hanover Italian American Society, John Theissen Children’s Foundation, The National Council of Columbia Associations of Civil Service, Little Shelter Animal Rescue, Suffolk Community College Broadcasters Association and Autism Speaks.
Born and raised in Long Island, Nicolini currently resides in New York City but also has a residence in Nashville Tennessee. Jill is an avid country music fan and more than anything she enjoys simple country living.
