Rev. Jennell Whitfield Riddick is a native of Williamsburg, VA. She is the daughter of Rev. Joe and Elsie Whitfield. She is a licensed and ordained preacher. Currently Rev. Riddick serves as the Director of Ministries at First Baptist Church, Franklin Virginia with her husband Pastor Dwight S. Riddick.
Rev. Riddick is a May 2004 honors graduate of the University of Richmond where she double majored in Rhetoric and Communication Studies and Theatre. She served in numerous capacities including: President and Chaplin of the Umoja Gospel Choir, co-chair of the Peer Advisory and Mentor Program, a student admission representative, a head resident, and as a student member of the Board of Trustees. She earned a Master of Divinity Degree from the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in May, 2007.
Rev. Riddick is the recipient of the 2004 National Black Student Leadership Conference Legacy Award, the Rhetoric and Communication Studies Leadership Award, the Westhampton College Distinguished Leadership Award, the University Players best Lead Actress Award, and the Peer Advisory and Mentor Program Mentor of the Year. She is also a member of Golden Key National Honor Society, Alpha Psi Omega Dramatic Honorary Fraternity, and Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Fraternity.
She is also the founder and overseer of Walk In It Ministries. This ministry is devoted to youth empowerment and community development. Rev. Riddick is a woman on a mission to encourage, empower, and equip, those that she meets with the Word of God. She heeds the words given to Zerubbabel in Zechariah 4:6 “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord of hosts.
