Based in Los Angeles, CA, Katherine Wilemon is the founder and president of The FH Foundation – a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness
of Familial Hypercholesterolemia. Katherine founded The FH Foundation after experiencing a heart attack at the young age of 38, due to a undiagnosed Familial Hypercholesterolemia condition. She then also realized she had unknowingly passed the condition onto her infant daughter.
Approximately 1 in every 500 people suffer from the disease, but its rate of diagnosis falls considerably short of that percentage. She has spent the past four years dedicating her time and experience to reaching out to
thousands of Americans and Europeans on the topic of FH. Her mission is to raise awareness of the disease, support those suffering from it, and improve public policy concerning its identification and treatment.
