Mrs. Mary Muhammad is a retired police officer. She writes The Grandmont Monitor (a n informative monthly community newsletter for the Grandmont Neighborhod). She is a mother, grandmother and dedicated wife. Her neighborhood (Grandmont/Rosedale Park) was selected for a police pilot program regarding crime control by the New York City Police Manhattan Institute.
Ms. Muhammad’s neighborhood has reduced crime significantly over the past three months. Said pilot program has been serving as a model for the entire city of Detroit as a crime reduction model. Mrs. Muhammad is relentless, energetic and overtly dedicated to serving her community and anyone who is in dire need of assistance.
Ms. Muhammad and her husband, Muhsin, have been recently honored by the Mayor of Detroit for their steadfast service.
