Sickle Cell Advocate Vannessa Wade is Today’s Honoree

VanessaWadeVannessa Wade is CEO and founder of Connect The Dots PR. She is a graduate of the University of Houston with a BA in Communications and has been featured in numerous newspapers, tv and radio segments. Her love of PR dates back to internships were she was able to improve the company’s bottom line, build relationships, and create memorable community events. Many companies including the Houston Area Women’s Center, The American Cancer Society and the Methodist Hospital have benefited from her insight. After working for Music World Entertainment, Vannessa quickly realized the importance of building powerful brands while maintaining quality products. Her passion for community involvement landed her at a non profit where she spearheaded campaigns, maintained press relations, and built a strong community relations program. Vannessa is active in her community and volunteers for the Girl Scouts of America, the Sickle Cell Association and will soon launch community programs in Haiti, Costa Rica and Africa.

Vannessa Wade Vannessa defines the word resilient and fighter. Born with Sickle Cell Vannessa has not allowed the disease to define her. After having a Sickle Cell Crisis that nearly killed her, she has resolved to live life fully and not sweat the small stuff. Although her recovery has had tense moments, she is upbeat and remains hopeful for her health.

Vannessa is an avid traveler and helps non native speakers learn English. She has been featured in a number of articles and shows no sings of slowing down.
