Documentary Filmmaker Rebecca Hu Is Today’s Honoree

Rebecca Hu is an amazing documentary film-maker who doubles as a grade 10 certified pianist. She serves as an extraordinary example of how women can excel in industries typically dominated by men. A Canada native, Rebecca moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams and has developed an extraordinary reputation amongst her industry peers. Her fearless approach to life deserves celebration!

While a  triple major at the University of Toronto, Canada native Rebecca Hu found time to work part-time and  participate in community service activities. Fluent in multiple languages, Hu adores fashion and worked as an amateur model during her youth.

Since launching her film career, the environmental activist has worked on more than 100
productions in a variety of capacities ranging from producer to writer. With her colleagues Peter Godwin, Alan Chu, Isaac  Ho, and Lee Rudnichi, Hu leads 1,001 Ways Productions, LLC-an independent  production company that releases cutting-edge pieces that leave audiences  buzzing.

The 1,001 team garnered rave reviews at the 3rd Annual Arizona Underground Film Festival and at the Chinese American Film Festival.
