Irva Faber-Bermudez is President and CEO of Detroit Central City Community Mental Health, Inc. She is
an advanced practice nurse with a specialty in psychiatric mental health nursing. Ms. Faber-Bermudez has broad expertise in behavioral health clinical practice, healthcare system leadership, consultation, and education.
Previously, Ms. Faber-Bermudez served as Director of Nursing Services at Detroit Receiving Hospital, Sinai
Hospital of Detroit, and served as faculty curriculum chair at The University of Phoenix.
Ms. Faber-Bermudez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Wayne State University, and board certification from the American Nurses Credentialing
Center as a psychiatric mental health clinical nurse specialist. She attended the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania completing courses in design for effective hospital management, planning and implementation of new initiatives.
Ms. Faber-Bermudez serves on several advisory boards, representing Detroit Central City as a member of
Gateway Community Health, the Clinton House Nonprofit Housing Corporation, the State of Michigan anti-stigma steering committee, and the Detroit Wayne County Community Mental Health Planning Council. She has been appointed to the Board of the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses Foundation, and serves as its Treasurer.
