As CEO of Jaguar Productions, Inc., a film and sports entertainment company, Jillian is a woman who literally endured many unspeakable hardships, including rape, homelessness, drug addiction, prostitution, domestic violence, and other horrors. However, she never gave up her dream of one day becoming a college graduate, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal and a filmmaker. With over 30 years in the entertainment and sports/fitness business, Jillian is a former reporter for the Wall Street Journal, a former competitive martial artist and boxer, an author, and an award winning writer and filmmaker. Her memoir, HERE I STAND, will be published in the winter of 2011. Her life has also garnished interest from film producers to turn her story into a feature film.
Jillian received her B.A. in Communications from La Salle University. She got
her start in filmmaking when she interned on the set of Spike Lee’s film
Malcolm X after she graduated from college in 1991. In 1995, Jillian
incorporated Jaguar Productions, Inc., and went on to produce a feature film
entitled Spirit, documentaries, and she has worked on other people’s film
projects as a writer, director, producer, actress, script doctor, or fight choreographer.
She also sold a boxing script entitled The Champion Inside in 2010 and a
psychological drama entitled Scar Across My Heart in 2011.
After Jillian was asked to speak at a Philadelphia college during her time
recovering from a torn rotator cuff, she continued the motivational speaking
path to help empower people to find their “fighting spirit.” As someone who has
overcome devastating experiences to become a successful businesswoman, Jillian
is in high demand to speak at organizations, corporations, businesses, fitness
and entertainment events, conferences, colleges, expos, and associations.
As a seasoned athlete with over 30 years in fitness and sports, Jillian is a
boxer, wrestler and martial artist (she holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and
Wing Chun). To keep her skills sharp Jillian currently trains in mixed martial
arts.
Jillian regularly promotes Fighting Spirit Warriors, a fitness for self-defense
program on a national level. She travels across the country where her mission
is “to reach and to teach” females safety and preventive measures, as well as
fitness techniques to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of rape, sexual
assault of domestic violence. She authored 100 Red Flag Warnings, Safety Tips
& Other Information That Could Save Your Life, which she sells at seminars
and workshops.
Each October (Domestic Violence Month), Jillian volunteers her time, experience
and knowledge to teach her Fighting Spirit Warriors program to Pennsylvania
women’s organizations free of charge.
